Solidarity sporting events
Hello athlete and organizer friends, we have prepared this short article to present to athletes some 'behind the scenes' aspects of a charity event and its degree of complexity. The topic is very extensive, so we will discuss it in a very synthetic way so that everyone can have a 'reflection'.
WHEN EVERYTHING BEGINS
For a charity event to take shape, there are several factors that must be taken into consideration. The first thing to define is who or what the charity event will be held for. Once that is done, the organization will start the first of many meetings with the beneficiary institution, to understand the current situation so that the organizing team can move on to a second step, which is Event Planning.
PLANNING
This phase is one of the main ones for the event because it is the definition of everything that will happen, from the physical aspects of materials, to sponsor resources, supporters, and the people who will make up the organizational structure's 'staff'. Everything is put on paper, calculated, recalculated again; several meetings are held so that things can be brought forth in the best possible way and everything works.
TIME FACTOR
Many times the organizer sacrifices free working hours spent on the event that needs to be organized. As you can imagine, it is not easy to secure sponsors, support, and resources. It is the most difficult phase of event organization, because without all this support, you won't have the resources to carry out the event. And that's how the free time you had for family, friends, and social life disappears. Friends tell us: 'We miss you!' - We reply: 'I have little time, I'm organizing a charity sporting event.' And someone always says: 'Why? You're wasting time, you don't get paid for this.' This is where our next topic comes in.
HELPING OTHERS
The task is arduous, because the organizational aspects are so numerous that sometimes a team, even if large, is not enough. When things take off and start being publicized, the phase of 'personal satisfaction' for a good cause begins. You start looking back and say softly to yourself: 'It was worth the effort. It took several months of planning and now we will continue with the promotion.' Organizing a charity sporting event is not an easy task, but it brings great satisfaction...
EVENT EXECUTION
(Organizers) are the first to arrive and the last to leave, dealing with various tasks, including heavy labor. They handle the entire organization of the event: kit delivery (bibs, etc.), staff to assist the public, the provision of water and general food obtained through sponsorships, timing management, etc. And thus, another event is completed, and a new SUCCESS! Everyone is satisfied, and the organization is ready for the next one, so that all this can be passed down to future generations.
CONCLUSION
Come to the organizing side, to feel the arduous task mixed with the pleasure of doing good and seeing the entire preparation of the event, from planning to execution. We must be grateful to the entire organizing team, the sponsors, the supporters, and the athletes, because without all of them, it is impossible for things to happen. With a charity event for a cause, you help save lives, feed people, clothe them,... We are not here to talk about religion; goodness comes from within every person of goodwill who commits to a just cause and understands the difficulties of others. Even as an athlete, through charity events, you are helped to help other people: everyone feels more alive and useful when they do good and see the results. There are factors much more important than event organization and participation: the possibility of contributing to the growth of GOOD. With every step you take in a run or a walk, with every drop of sweat, with your commitment, you are helping those who need help!
